Description
This program emphasizes computer security and information assurance concepts based on current industry-standard methodologies. Included topics: identifying system vulnerabilities and threats, prevention at the hardware, software, and human layers, detection, response, and management aspects of security.
The program prepares entry-level computer technicians with cybersecurity expertise.
This program helps the student prepare for a variety of industry certifications, including:
EC-Council's Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification
Computing Technology Industry Association’s (CompTIA) Security+ certification
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and CyberOps (CBOPS) certifications
Program Learning Outcomes
1.Apply critical thinking skills to design, develop, implement, analyze, operate, maintain, and protect complex information systems.
2.Use information technology components to design, configure, and deploy secured information systems.
3.Utilize networking and advanced security concepts and frameworks in the design, development, implementation, analysis, operation, maintenance, and protection of sophisticated information transfer systems.
4.Implement security measures related to the processing and transfer of information using industry recognized methodologies
5.Utilize secured computing concepts and frameworks in the design, implementation, analysis, operation, maintenance, and protection of traditional or cloud-based computing solutions.
